创业公司 SpinLaunch 正在开发一种替代发射系统，将动能作为一种起飞的方法，把投射物发射到轨道上。该公司提议使用真空密封离心机，通过旋转让投射物接近逃逸速度，然后将其释放进入轨道。这套系统仍然需要火箭发动机机动和定位卫星。他们在新墨西哥州的沙漠里建造了一个 1/10 比例的原型，已将测试物体发射到上万英尺的高度。在最近的一次采访中，公司首席执行官 Jonathan Yaney 表示：“我发现项目越大胆、越疯狂，你越是最好埋头努力——而不是夸夸其谈。我们必须向自己证明我们实际上能做得到。”
