Apple's new iPad Air 4 (2020) has some excellent discounts ahead of Black Friday. See the best iPad Air offers from every UK retailer and network this month.

Image: AppleThe iPad Air 4 went on sale 23 October, 2020. Despite a design shift to look similar to the latest Pros, the slate was the very first Apple device to come with the A14 Bionic chip, as well as moving Touch ID to the power button.
The new 10.9in iPad Air is an excellent halfway house between the entry-level iPad and high-end iPad Pro – and ideal for those who need some extra power, but don't want to spend hundreds of pounds on a device that may not replace their laptop.
If you want to know where to buy the iPad Air 4 this month at the best price this Black Friday season, you've come to the right place. We're starting to see massive discounts, especially now that there are so many new iPads to choose from, including the new iPad mini, iPad Pro with M1 and new iPad (9th gen).
Black Friday itself arrives on 26 November, but there's no need to wait for the day itself as sales have already started. We're flagging any early Black Friday iPad Air deals here as we spot them.
We're also looking at the best iPad deals across every model if you want to see other top offers.
Best iPad Air 4 deals of November 2021 & Early Black Friday Offers
Right now, the biggest discount we can see on the iPad Air 4th gen is from Amazon, where there's a £56 discount on the 256GB option with cellular connectivity. We've previously seen £210 off the 256GB iPad Air 4 with Cellular though that model is no longer in stock (there is £170 off if you don't mind waiting for stock to return, however).
If you want the Wi-Fi only models, you can save £39 on the 64GB model and £69 and 256GB options.
Apple Educational discount - iPad Air (4th gen) offer
Although Apple's Back to School Sale, which includes a free pair of AirPods along with 20% off Apple Care+, students and staff in higher education can still save on the iPad Air with an educational discount.
Apple isn't the only retailer that offers student discounts, however. KRCS also offers up to 10% off, as does MusicMagpie (up to £120 off), if you're interested in saving on the iPad Air 4 by buying refurbished.

This is a superb deal on an excellent device. If stock runs out, go with Amazon where it's £549 or AO where it's £555.
2. Apple iPad Air (64GB, 4th Gen, Wi-Fi + Cellular)
Amazon has the cellular iPad Air with £40 off the £709 RRP. A decent saving that applies to all but the Blue finish.
3. Apple iPad Air 2020 (256GB, Wi-Fi + Cellular, 4th Gen)
If you don't mind waiting until stock returns, you can save £170 on the 256GB iPad Air with Wi-Fi and Cellular at Amazon - a decent chunk off the top-end model.
4. Apple Education Discount
Now: Up to £280 off Mac, £80 off iPad
Apple's education pricing is available all year round. To be eligible, you just need to prove your status as a current or newly accepted university student, parent buying on behalf of a university student or member of teaching staff at any level. You'll then get up to £280 off a new Mac or up to £80 off a new iPad.
5. Apple iPad Air 4 (256GB, 2020) Wi-Fi Only
Amazon's iPad Air 4 stock is intermittent and the prices vary depending on the configuration and colour - right now this near £60 discount is the biggest we can see.

Now: £689 (£40 off + £20 off with MYJL200)
It's £670 over at Amazon for this 256GB Wi-Fi only model, but the benefit of John Lewis's offer is its current promo slashes £20 off any purchase of £200 or more with code MYJL200. You'll just need to sign up for the free My John Lewis account.
John Lewis also offers a a free 2-year guarantee.
7. Apple iPad Air 2020 (256GB, Wi-Fi, 4th Gen)
Amazon has £49 off the Air 4 with 256GB storage. No Cellular here though.

Amazon has nearly £30 off the entry-level iPad Air 4 (64GB).
9. Apple iPad Air 2020 (64GB, 4th Gen)
If you miss Amazon's discount on the 64GB Air 4, KRCS also has £11 off. It's not as high, but delivery is free. KRCS also has £14 off the Wi-Fi and Cellular model (64GB).
10. Apple iPad Air 2020 (64GB, Wi-Fi + Cellular, 4th Gen) with 2GB data
Now: £16 per month (£6 off per month)
Sky's offer is the most competitive if you're looking at total costs. Where O2 and Virgin's contracts last 48 months, Sky's is only 36 months – and with no upfront costs and a monthly rate that outdoes other contract providers for 2GB data. Plus, following a recent price drop, the contract is cheaper than ever.

Now: £20 upfront, £31 per month (£3p/m off)
O2's plan is over a 36-month term, but you can choose shorter plans (at higher monthly rates).

Should I wait for Black Friday for iPad Air (2020) deals?
Black Friday arrives on Friday 26 November this year, followed by Cyber Monday on 29 November, which leads to the question: should you wait until then for a better deal?
Yes, and no. If you urgently want the iPad Air ahead of Christmas and you see a stellar discount today, it's easy: pick it up. If you have the luxury of waiting until mid-November however, it may pay off. There's no need to wait for 26 November itself, of course.
In the past, the biggest and best Black Friday deals were typically reserved for the big day, but now Black Friday deals appear all through November – in fact major retailers have already started sales.
If you see dramatic Black Friday iPad discounts before 26 November, just go for it! Some retailers holding early Black Fridays sales also promise that prices won't go any lower on Black Friday itself and offer to refund customers back the difference if it does.

When was the 2020 iPad Air released?
The 2020 iPad Air was announced at Apple's 15 September 'Time Flies' event. Pre-orders were live from 16 October, with the device officially available from 23 October.
This followed the same schedule as the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, although we have to wait until November for the Mini and Pro Max.
What features does the 2020 iPad Air have?
The new iPad Air is a significant upgrade over its predecessor, now sporting a design similar to that seen on the 2018 iPad Pro. A new 10.9in screen size has much smaller bezels, with Touch ID now built into the power button instead of below the screen. However, there's no Face ID support.

Impressively, the Air is the very first device to sport Apple's new A14 Bionic chip, with a serious boost in performance expected over last year's A12. The single rear camera has also been upgraded to a 12Mp, f/1.8 sensor.
Elsewhere, the new iPad Air also follows the Pro in shifting to USB-C, while there are new green and blue colour options to add to the existing Silver, Space Grey and Rose Gold.
