GREENWASHING: FLAGGING SYSTEM
Eco-Bot.Net's system collects, visualises and flags corporate greenwashing ads and content from Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Corporate greenwashing is a tactic used to mislead consumers about the green credentials of a product or service, or about the environmental performance of a company.
Once our system finds a sponsored ad or post that contains greenwashing content and it is verified by our in-house team of journalists, the data will be visualised online and then flagged on the social media platform where it was found.
The data displayed in this section can be verified in the data archive section of the website.
New 'data drops' for different sectors such as lobbying, energy and aviation will be released throughout COP26.
This dataset is updated every 24hrs.

This ad by Glencore uses corporate greenwashing tactics. Greenwashing misleads consumers about the green credentials of a product or service, or about the environmental performance of the company. This post selectively discloses the company’s credentials or portrays symbolic actions to build a friendly brand image.
Glencore is using behavioural data from Facebook to influence mostly men aged 25-34 in England and women aged 25-34 with this ad. The ad has been delivered the most to people in England. Glencore has 23 ads on Facebook that are classified as political.
