最近，戴姆勒集团首席执行官康林松表示，部分梅赛德斯-奔驰的电动车会使用磷酸铁锂动力电池，例如EQB以及全新一代的EQA，采用磷酸铁锂的成本较为低廉，能够降低售价，从而带来更强的竞争力，两款新机预计在2024、2025年上市。

电池供应商现在还没确定，不过考虑到目前奔驰乘用车、戴姆勒的商用车（卡车、巴士）都采用了宁德时代电池，有外媒猜测宁德时代将会是奔驰乘用车磷酸铁锂电池的供应商。

现在像特斯拉、小鹏都采用了磷酸铁锂电池以降低成本，正如入门级的Model 3、Model Y。这种电池在能量密度上不占优势，而且续航虚、冬天还缩水，不过胜在便宜+安全性高，还是有不少厂家选装。
