Scheduled for Early Release on PC sometime in 2022

Among Us opened up the gates for a new games genre that wasn’t as popular before: social deduction. Although many have tried to recreate the success of the critically-acclaimed social party game, few managed to come even close to what the folks at Innersloth managed to achieve.

However, we’re happy that more and more developers are picking up the torch are trying come up with interesting twists on an established formula. First Class Trouble is yet another social deception party game where players are assigned different roles, so they’ll have to either collaborate or deceive in order to achieve their objectives.

Today, yet another developer announced a similar game: DUBIUM. Created by MUMO STUDIO, a developer founded by four veterans that each have around 20 years of game development and publishing experience and have worked on hit PC and mobile titles such as Black Desert Online, Boxing Star, Dead to Rights, and more.

As the title says, DUBIUM is a 5-player social deduction game set in a near-future sci-fi universe. Following the same formula, players are assigned different roles like Frontier or Traitor and must escape from an abandoned space station by any means necessary.

Frontiers will cooperate to repair solar panels that power the escape pod while trying to uncover the identity of the sole Traitor. Of course, the Traitor will sabotage the Frontiers’ efforts at every step as they try to complete their own mission. The Traitor needs to hide their identity and use deceit and treachery to take the Frontiers out one by one in order to escape the station unopposed.

According to developers, the game will feature an exaggerated art style unusual for social deduction games. Players will interact, explore, and sometimes kill with beautifully animated, cartoon-like characters. DUBIUM will also include a configurable character and gadget system, as they will be able to upgrade their gadgets with rewards earned through gameplay.

DUBIUM is scheduled for Early Access release on PC in 2022, but MUMO Studio revealed that fans of the genre will soon be able to sign up for an upcoming closed beta test. Additionally, a Kickstarter campaign will go live later this month with perks and incentives for those who support the project.
