Why should you attend the PASS Data Community Summit?

When PASS closed its doors at the end of last year, I was one of those who was disappointed. When Redgate then acquired the assets of PASS and committed to making available the library of content and training sessions – and reviving the Summit – I was one of those cheering on from the sidelines.  Let us learn Why should you attend the PASS Data Community Summit?

Redgate have lived up to their assurances and the PASS library of videos is now freely available on YouTube – just search for PASStv. They’ve also brought back the Summit and v2.0, the PASS Data Community Summit, will be held online on November 8-12.

What I like about this year’s conference is that it provides a unique opportunity for data professionals to attend for free. Attendees who wouldn’t normally be able to participate due to registration fees and travel costs have free access to the three-day conference. They’ll also be able to view sessions on-demand following the event, so that they can revisit any they missed during the live conference.

I also like the fact that the proceeds from the pre-conference sessions will be given directly to the presenting speakers or to charity, so this truly is a community-focused event. But what can you expect from it when you attend?

The world’s largest online gathering of data platform professionals

The team behind this year’s event has been busy for the last six months, ensuring the PASS Data Community Summit continues the success of past Summits. It looks like it’s working. They’ve committed to provide the same level of world-class content, including the curated Learning Pathways, as well as opportunities to connect with old friends and build new relationships during the networking opportunities, which I hear will be announced soon.

Looking at the line-up, this year’s conference features many of the industry’s leading data platform experts, as well as a record number of new speakers. They’ll be offering fresh content on the latest trends and technologies, and there will be opportunities to meet them for Q&A sessions in a group setting.

Packed with demos of common real-world challenges and solutions, delivered by some of the top industry experts, this year’s Summit has 9 Learning Pathways – curated pathways of sessions designed to help attendees master specific learning outcomes. As a result, you’ll come away from the Summit with a wealth of tips and tricks you can immediately take back to your workplace.

Once again, Microsoft stepped in as the Premier sponsor and other sponsors like AWS and Dell Technologies are participating too, providing more opportunities for attendees to find out about cutting-edge products and services for the data platform.

World-class content from leading experts

PASS has always been known for the quality of its speakers and this year’s event is no different. A program committee made up of members from the data community helped to select the sessions and speakers, and provided guidance on what the program should look like. They did a great job too.

Over 200 sessions feature some of the world’s leading data platform experts including Bob Ward, Anna Hoffman, Itzik Ben-Gan, Kimberly L. Tripp, Erin Stellato, Ben Weissman, and Steph Locke. They and many, many other speakers will cover topics like analytics, architecture, data management, development, professional development, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, with three themes running across all tracks – Back to Basics, Reach for the Clouds, and Level Up.

Back to Basics will provide practical learning to help you solve and improve your day-to-day tasks. Reach for the Clouds will feature sessions focused on all things cloud, from how, when and why to migrate to the cloud, to modernizing the data stack. Staying true to PASS Summit’s history of educating and helping data professionals, the third Level Up track will present a wealth of sessions focused on advancing and improving the careers of every attendee.

Networking opportunities that cross countries and borders

This really is a global event welcoming a worldwide audience. . Sessions are available in both live and on-demand formats so that you don’t miss any of the content and can attend and participate any way you’re comfortable with.

That also presents, of course, opportunities to take part in casual meetups and networking sessions to widen your professional circle and make lasting connections that can support you in your career journey. The sessions will be interspersed with networking breaks so that everyone can recharge their batteries throughout the conference and have fun with the community.

Don’t miss this year’s biggest online data platform event

I’ve heard that thousands of attendees from all around the globe have already registered for the opportunity the PASS Data Community Summit offers to gain the knowledge and skills they need to level up their careers.

Whether you want to level up your knowledge and skills, find out everything there is to know about the cloud, or get some practical learning from world-class experts, this is the one event this year you won’t want to miss.

Find out more and confirm your place at the PASS Data Community Summit.
