The new release brings one of the most important changes in the editor: the ending screens, new login actions and the most requested integration: Google Sheets! Discover how to use both of them plus other new features that you will find in the editor.

The ending screens

If you open the form editor, you will see that there is a new display and settings for the after form submission screen. Now you can configure the thank you message, the redirection URL, the token to log the user in and JS callbacks in the form itself.

To configure them, simply click on the plus button to open the variable autocomplete menu and reference the proper state variable.

Just remember to use the Store state variable action in the flow to set the variables that you will need: success message, redirection URL, authentication token, etc.

The new login actions

The login actions, regardless of the platform or identity provider, have been unified since not all of them automatically return the token needed to log the user in.

To make flows easier to understand, the login actions have been renamed following the idea that the actions are used to check if the user is already registered and to generate a unique token, and that the login is executed in the ending screen.

The new names of the login actions are:

  • Check credentials, to check if the email is registered and the password is correct.
  • Lookup, to check if the email is registered in passwordless flows.
  • Issue a token, to request the necessary token to start the user's session in both cases. This token needs to be referenced in the ending screen of the form.

This change will not affect, in the short term, any user with working flows and they will be able to continue working just as they have done so far. It will only be applied to new flows.

The Google Sheets integration

You can now start using Google Sheets in flows to store form data!

To configure this action, just connect it via OAuth, paste the spreadsheet ID and the sheet ID in which you want to save the data, and list the variables that you want to store.

New functions: The programmatic ‘Next step’

Using third party widgets in your forms? You can now go forward to the next step of the form programmatically, for example after verifying a user's ID with a selfie.

This function allows you to listen to events and advance the form programmatically, by simply adding it in the HTML block in which you have embedded the widget.

The tag format in variables

To facilitate their identification, the variables in all the settings fields within the autocomplete menu are now automatically formatted as tags or labels.

This happens both if you use the autocomplete menu and when you write them yourself. It is of great help when there is more than one variable and some symbol in the same field and when creating the data lists that you want to send to your database or CRM.
