DataMesh, a digital twin platform provider, has recently closed its B1 funding round, with nearly 100 million yuan in proceeds, which will be used for product R&D and market development. Beijing Cornerstone led the fundraising, a venture capital platform under state-owned Beijing Infrastructure Investment. Lenovo Capital and others were also involved in the financing round.

Founded in 2014, DataMesh focuses on providing digital twin solutions, including simulator platforms and cloud services for industrial purposes. 

According to its CEO Jie Li, a Microsoft veteran, DataMesh's products serve not only leaders and executives but also ordinary laborers, "Ultimately, DataMesh aims to make the digital twin technology available for everyone and build a true industrial metaverse from the roots of society."

DataMesh's digital twin platform has been adopted by many established manufacturers, such as Midea, BellSystem24, Sany Heavy Industry, SF Express, and others.

Context:

A digital twin is a virtual representation that serves as the real-time digital counterpart of a physical object or process. Such technology aims to help optimize manufacturing and training processes, thus reduces error and boosts productivity.

The term was specified by NASA when they built a replica of rockets for astronomers to rehearse. According to NASA's definition, digital twin is a concept that combines as-built vehicle components, as-experienced loads and environments, and other vehicle-specific characteristics to enable ultrahigh fidelity modeling of the physical product throughout their service lives.
