Microsoft reveals the official Office 2021 pricing

Microsoft has officially announced the pricing details of the new Microsoft Office 2021 that allows users to use the productivity suite without a subscription.

In addition, the company has also provided additional details about the feature lineup, explaining that many of the Microsoft 365 features are also part of the new version.

“The past year and a half have proven it’s more important than ever that our tools provide the flexibility to connect and create together virtually. This is why in both Microsoft 365 and Office 2021 we’re including Microsoft Teams for personal use so you can engage with anyone at any time, whether it’s chat, calls, or video. We’re also incorporating many of the collaboration features already available to Microsoft 365 subscribers into Office 2021,” the company explains.

Microsoft Office 2021 will obviously come in several versions, and the cheapest one will be Office Home and Student 2021, which will be available for $149.99. This particular version includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Microsoft Teams (on both Windows and Mac).

Launching next week

Then, there’s Office Home and Business 2021, which this time will be available for $249.99 and also includes Outlook for PC and Mac.

Office 2021 is projected to launch on October 5, the same day as Windows 11, and it’ll be fully optimized for the new operating system.

“App themes will stay in sync with your Windows light or dark mode by default. Updated apps include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access, Project, Publisher, and Visio. We’ve also intentionally aligned this visual update with the availability of Windows 11 to provide a coherent and seamless experience on a new Windows 11 PC. And yes, this update is also available to people using Windows 10,” Microsoft says.

Needless to say, the software giant recommends everybody who wants a fully up-to-date experience to get a Microsoft 365 subscription.
