لو نقارن اليوم بين سيارتين، سيارة صنعت في هذه السنة وسيارة صنعت في السبعينات. بالتأكيد سوف نلاحظ فروقات كبيرة بالتصميم، لكن الجدير بالذكر هي طريقة صناعه كل سيارة. في السبعينات كان جزء كبير من عمليه التصنيع يتم بأيادي عامله وبنسبه تكرار عالية. ولكن اليوم نرى في خطوط انتاج السيارات أذرعه روبوتية تقوم بالمهام الصعبة والمتكررة. وهذا المثال ينطبق تماما على مؤسسات اليوم وطريقة اداء الاعمال.

من ممكن ان نرى مؤسسات تعمل بطريقة تقليدية بتطبيق نوع من التقنية لكن بشكل روتيني وليس له عائد كبير من ناحيه استغلال وقت الموظفين. ومن الممكن ان نرى مؤسسات ذكيه تستخدم أحدث وسائل التقنية في تحسين الاجراءات وتمكين كفاءة الأعمال. ومن الأمثلة على الوسائل الحديثة، هي تقنيه تسمى بـ أتمته العمليات الروبوتية او ما يعرف ب (RPA Technology).

بكل بساطه، تقنيه الـ (RPA) سوف تساعد بالأعمال المكررة والروتينية وتقدمها للموظف لاتخاذ الاجراء الأخير. مثل ما نرى الذارعة الروبوتية في خطوط انتاج السيارات تقوم بالعمل المكرر ويكون تدخل الموظف في فحص جودة المنتج. بالمثل، راح يقوم ال RPA بالعمل الروتيني والمكرر وموظف المؤسسة الذكية يكون تدخله في فحص جودة المعلومات.

توجد عدة استخدامات لتقنية لـ RPA ولكن لنأخذ حاله في قسم المالية وبالتحديد في معالجة المدفوعات.  قد نرى بعض المؤسسات تقوم بمعالجة ما يقارب ١٠.٠٠٠ فاتورة سنويًا بطريقه يدوية. هذه المرحلة اليدوية قد تنشأ باسترداد فواتير الموردين من رسائل البريد الإلكتروني ومن ثم التحقق من صحة البيانات ومن ثم ادخالها في النظام المالي. باستخدام تقنية الـ RPA يمكن استخراج رسائل البريد بشكل تلقائي، التأكد من صحة المعلومات ومن ثم اعتمادها في النظام كما هو موضح في الرسم البياني التالي.

وفي الخاتمة، يمكننا ان ننظر إلى شركات السيارات العالمية للحصول على بعض الإلهام. يمكننا ان نتعلم ونلاحظ كيف اعادوا اختراع طرق صنع السيارات. كيف تم حفظ جهد موظف المصنع من الاعمال الصعبة والمكررة والسماح له بالتدخل فقط في فحص جودة المنتج. المؤسسات الذكية تدرك ان وقت وخبرات موظفيها له قيمه عالية والتقنيات الحديثة مثل تقنية أتمته العمليات الروبوتية التي ستوفر بعض المكاسب السريعة

If we compare two cars today, one that was manufactured this year and one that was made in the 70’s. Surely we will notice major design differences but what’s worth mentioning is the way these two cars were built. Back in the 70’s production lines relied on factory workers to perform some of the heavy lifting with a high repetition rate. Today, production lines rely on robotic arms to do the heavy lifting and the repetitive work. And the same to be said about today’s organizations.

We could see organizations have some sort of technology to run their operations, but most of the work is non-value adding and very repetitive. We could also see intelligent organization where they use the latest technologies to automate the non-value-added activities and allow their employees to focus on high value activities. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is considered one of the technology enablers for such visions.

As we could see in production lines today, robotic arms will perform the heavy lifting and a factory worker would only perform quality checks. RPA’s will do the repetitive work and will let the employee decide the final action.

There are a lot of use cases for RPA’s that could automate work in different departments. But, let’s take the finance department for example and specifically the accounts payable department. As part of its manual processing of 10,000 vendor invoices annually, a large pharmaceuticals distributor downloads information from vendor portals or retrieves it from supplier e-mails. The company has replaced this time-intensive, error-prone download, data validation, and data transfer processes with more-efficient automated tasks as shown in the below graph.

In conclusion, we could look at the automotive industry for some inspiration. We could learn and observe how they reinvented the way cars are built. How factory workers were relived from the heavy lifting, time consuming, and possibly dangerous activities to finally focus on the final outcome. Intelligent organization realize that their employee time and experience is valuable and intelligent technologies such as Robotic Process Automation can be one of the quick wins.
