iOS 15 Impact on Email Marketing: Go back to basics
iOS 15 and its feature, Mail Privacy Protection, are expected to have quite a large impact on email open rate reporting.
This version of iOS will allow users to “Protect Mail Activity” which will cause open email data reporting to be inaccurate for emails processed through an Apple Mail App regardless of the email service or device used.
Apple’s new Mail Privacy Protection keeps senders from knowing if an email has been opened. It also blocks senders from seeing recipients’ IP addresses.
Instead of caring about open rates, here are some better metrics to monitor:
- Click reach rate: percentage of subscribers driving clicks. Calculated by dividing unique clicks by unique sent over a given period.
- Click-through rate: percentage of unique subscribers who click on an email. This is an obvious, yet important metric.
- Revenue per subscriber.
- Revenue per email.
In this case, we recommend isolating Apple Mail users to continue tracking open rates reliably and also finding ways to normalize other types of engagement in your emails – whether that’s through one-click email feedback or encouraging subscribers to “Reply”.

India, Germany to see growth in M&A space driven by IT, auto, pharma sectors
NEW DELHI : As the global economy recovers from the ravages of covid-19, software and services, automotives, pharmaceuticals and capital goods are expected to keep the momentum going in the mergers and acquisitions space between India and Germany, says a study.
“After the setback observed in 2020, the economies of both Germany and India are expected to observe a strong recovery as GDP growth rates for 2021 have been pegged at 3.7% and 9.5% respectively,” said the report.

India ranks 2nd in cloud ransomware incidents; lack of security skills top concern for APJ orgs
Cybersecurity solutions provider McAfee has revealed that in the second quarter of 2021, India ranked second in cloud ransomware incidents, after the United States.
The McAfee threat report also showed that more than 73% of all ransomware detections in the Q2 of 2021 were related to a certain REvil/Sodinokibi family, along with a sharp surge in another type of ransomware called as the DarkSide.
“There is a huge opportunity for the adoption of technology solutions like segmentation, SD-WAN, ZTNA, as well as SEG and EDR, to help protect against the threat of ransomware,” said Rajesh Maurya, regional vice president, India & SAARC at Fortinet.
