What Can We do to Regain Creativity?

The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul.

Creativity is making new connections to old ideas. In other words, bringing together two pre-existing ideas in an innovative way.

Being creative doesn’t mean thinking creatively or coming up with ideas for the first time. It means connecting the dots of ideas and revealing a new meaning.

Do you know why I chose such a topic?
As technology, artificial intelligence, and perhaps even robots dominate our world much more, we will need this ability, which makes us who we are, more than ever before. In the near future, creativity will be one of the most sought-after talents.

Are There Any Requirements For Being A Creative Person?

Let me ask you a question in response to this. When you think of a creative person, what comes to mind?

I have something in mind for 5-year-olds. All of us are born with the ability to be creative, but some of us quickly lose this ability and forget it. Therefore, the right question is: what can you do to become creative again?

Because all children are painters, musicians, designers. They see many ideas in the world he was born into and fearlessly combines them in a way that no one knew before. But as they get older, they say, “That’s not how it’s done, don’t be ridiculous!” They bury the talent in him with his suggestions.

The dots are there, but children cannot connect them. When a group of children perseveres despite external influences, what is said, and everything, they grow up and become artists. The points it connects become works of art.

What Can We Do To Reclaim The Creative Talents We Buried In The Ground?

It is necessary to deal with dirt and dust first in order to extract creativity, which is as valuable as a gold mine. Prepare yourself for this. You will get dirty. There will be a lot of garbage produced by you.

You will make junk drawings, you will write articles that no one will bother reading, you might shoot amateur videos or you might compose noise instead of music. However, you will take action. It is likely that the first thing you do will be bad. You will continue to ignore anyone.

To create something, even dust or soil. Finally, you will see that there is something shining within the heap of soil you produce. It’s “Gold” because it comes from your creative talents, the things that make you unique.

To be creative again, first start doing something bad, no matter what.

Working Hard and Being Patient

You should not wait for the muse to think creatively and produce creative ideas. The fairy only whispers something in the ears of those who work hard. There is more to creativity than just ideas that come to mind, it is a process. Consider the lives of people whose imaginations you admire and who you think are creative. No one of them happened by chance or all at once. After years of working regularly, something emerges.

To be creative again, you need to be patient. When you go into the bathroom and say, “Eureka!” Don’t wait for the moment when you’re going to shout.

Take a Small Step. The Moment is Now.

I know it’s a bad step. After throwing, you may even wobble and fall. However, throw it away. You have completed your step. Finish what you’ve started. The work you have completed may seem like garbage to you. Probably so.

But have you never seen a child proudly showing you a picture he just drew? It may seem like it’s filled with stick figures, but in his vivid imagination, he paints a whole world. Most importantly, he finished what he started. And he doesn’t hesitate to show it to everyone. That’s how brave you have to be.

Don’t be afraid to share that work you’ve done without fear. It’s a good thing social media exists for that. Now there is a suitable medium for everyone: writers, designers, musicians, and photographers. Find a corner where you can produce and share.

Your dots will come together one day, and then you will find the creative spirit you lost again. If you connect the dots, you will find someone who says that imagination is more important than knowledge, and that person is absolutely right.

I suggested connecting the dots again and gave suggestions. I have one more thing to say.

In one of his speeches, Steve Jobs, one of the first names that come to mind when thinking of creativity in the world of technology, said:

“You cannot connect the dots of your life by looking ahead. When you look back, you can connect the dots. Now you have to believe that the dots will somehow connect in the future. You have to believe in something. Regardless of what you believe in, you must believe in destiny, life, karma, etc. I have never been disappointed by this approach; all the positive changes in my life have resulted from this belief.”
