Young Coder’s Best of Summer 2021

As the final days of summer draw close, it’s time for our annual summer list of the most popular articles of the season. As always, there were some surprise sleeper hits, and a couple I knew would touch a nerve.

Here they are, in no particular order:

  1. What does the new Windows 11 offer developers? Is there anything that could tempt someone using Linux or macOS to switch operating systems?
  2. Sometimes it’s fun to look back… way back. Here are 3 Terrible Programming Features from the Past. Maybe you used one.
  3. Is Google leading the way to a new future or destroying the web by pushing canvas rendering instead of HTML markup?
  4. C# 10 aims to add the little conveniences that improve programming life. Here are 5 features that the team has planned for this release.
  5. By now, you’ve definitely heard about the controversy surrounding GitHub Copilot. We took a look at the promise of AI code generation.
  6. My favorite new VS Code feature is remote repositories, which lets you work on a project without downloading the whole thing.
