Altos 公司正在积极探索生物重编程技术（一种能够在实验室内使细胞恢复活力的方法），部分科学家认为这种方法能扩展至整个生物体内，最终延长人类寿命。这家新公司今年年初才在美国和英国注册成立，并计划在湾区、圣迭戈、堪布里奇、英国及日本等地建立多处研究所，希望用丰厚的薪酬招募一大批高校科研人员，承诺他们可以不受约束地开展关于细胞衰老机制与逆转衰老方法的探索性研究。根据听取了公司简报的消息人士透露，亚马逊掌门人贝索斯也是他们的投资者……据称，来自加利福尼亚州拉霍亚索尔克研究所的西班牙生物学家 Juan Carlos Izpisúa Belmonte 也将加入 Atlos。这位科学家曾因研究将人类与猴子胚胎进行混合而声名狼藉，他预测人类寿命还可以再延长 50 年。
