在2019年，Google推出了Android Auto for Phone Screens，主要给老车型用户将智能手机当作智能车机来使用。而现在该app即将停止对新设备的支持，准确来说不会支持Android 12，当然也不会继续支持后续新系统。
不过这个一app依然可以运行在老版本Android设备上，只是不支持Android 12系统，相应的Google Assistant驾驶模式会替代它的功能。可见Google仅是通过集成化的新功能来代替它，并不是完全放弃前文提到的一些老车型用户。目前该应用依然可以通过Play市场下载，估计会在随后大量Android 12新机型出现时才会看到影响。
