7月29日，华为P50系列在原定计划的4个月后终于发布。据悉，P50搭载的是骁龙888处理器，P50 Pro有两个版本，一款搭载骁龙888，另一款搭载麒麟9000。虽然这两款处理器均是5G旗舰手机配置，但在P50系列上却无法支持5G网络。
P50推迟发布是因为美国禁令导致麒麟芯片无法生产。
据悉，芯片中负责信号传输的天线和射频集成电路之间的部分统称为“射频前端”，而5G射频芯片中的核心环节滤波器主要的技术来自于美国，华为也始终无法绕开这一步才造成了P50系列无法使用5G信号。
据相关数据，华为在2019年的全球出货量达到2.4亿台，然而在2021年第二季度，华为出货量排名早就跌出前5位。
