From Discover to Implementation with SAP BTP: SAP Community Call Recap & Resources

On July 26, I had the pleasure of talking to Annemarie Smit & Marko Sommer in another SAP Community Call that shows how the capabilities of SAP Business Technology Platform support your cloud transformation journey.

Annemarie walked us through SAP Activate. Basically, how we recommend you carry out your SAP S/4HANA projects. From the initial discovery and value evaluation phase, towards implementation and operations lifecycle.

In the call, she focused on the Discovery phase, sharing an example of the Digital Discovery Assessment tool. DDA helps you understand the scope of your SAP S/4HANA project, what’s covered out of the box and also where you’d want to use SAP BTP as you extension platform. It also outlines the various integration points to SAP systems, where the SAP Integration Suite can support thanks to the out-of-the-box integration packages.

Annemarie also talked about the Roadmap viewer – another great asset, where you can find SAP Activate methodology implementation roadmaps and check out all the activities, deliverables, and tasks defined for your journey.

Last but not least, she shared the steps in an end-to-end business process that I think we can all relate to: Recruit to Retire. This process can touch various systems (SAP and non-SAP), so it’s important to have a connected landscape that can support throughout the lifecycle.

One of the aspects that you need to consider is user lifecycle management. And Marko Sommer shared an excellent demo, showcasing the different capabilities of SAP Cloud Identity Services, including multi-factor authentication and combining with 3rd-party solutions like Microsoft Azure AD. He shared both the admin tasks and end-user experience.

If you missed the session, I highly encourage you to watch the replay:

Until next time!
