Having trouble accessing your Hulu account? Here's how to change or reset your streaming password.

Hulu brings a wide assortment of TV shows and films to users in the United States. It’s an easy-to-use service, but one of the obstacles you may encounter involves forgetting your password. Resetting your Hulu password frequently is also a smart way to keep your account secure.

Here’s how to change your Hulu password or use the Hulu forgot password feature.

How to Change Your Hulu Password

If you know your password and want to change it, Hulu lets you do that from the Your Account section, accessible via a web or mobile browser.

Here’s how to change a Hulu password that way:

  1. Go to hulu.com/account
  2. Go to Your Account.
  3. From the Overview tab, notice the Your Account section on the right.
  4. Next to Password, click the blue Change Password button.
  5. Enter your current password and new password in the appropriate fields.

Hulu offers some general tips for creating a strong new password. For example, suggestions include avoiding sequential numbers and letters, making the password as long as possible, and ensuring whatever you enter does not include personal information or the word “password.”

If you’re having trouble picking something, consider using a random password generator to come up with an option that follows best practices.

Sometimes, you may try to reset a password and reach a Hulu internal error page while doing it. Clearing your browser cache can resolve the issue and help you use the site without further problems.

How to Use the Hulu Forgot Password Feature

Hulu offers numerous features to make the service as enjoyable as possible. For example, you can use your smartphone as a Hulu remote or change how subtitles look. The company also created a dedicated page to use if you can’t remember your password.

  1. Go to hulu.com/forgot
  2. Enter your email address in the box.
  3. Press the Send Me a Reset Link button.

Hulu documentation mentions that it may take up to 15 minutes to receive the reset email. If you don’t see it in the inbox after that amount of time, check the spam folder to see if it landed there. Another thing to keep in mind is that the link expires after three hours.

How to Change Your Hulu Password Without Knowing Your Email

Perhaps it’s been a while since you’ve used Hulu, and you can’t remember the email associated with the account. In that case, follow these steps:

  1. Go to hulu.com/login
  2. Click Forget your email or password?
  3. Click I don't remember my email address.
  4. Enter the required information on the next screen and click Continue.
