Every architectural structure has its own aesthetic appeal. Each architect is a unique talented person holding lots of creativity. This article is dedicated to the top 10 architects around the world who most people have admired during the years.

1. Moshe Safdie: He was born in Haifa in 1938. He is considered as one of the most important architects of the second half of the 20th and early 21st century. His name is associated with international architectural projects in North and South America, the Middle East, and throughout Asia that have been an inspiration for many other younger architects. The Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, the Jewel Changi Airport and the Habitat 67 housing complex in Montreal bear his signature. He has been honored many times for his architectural achievements. He runs “Safdie Architects” with headquarters in Somerville, Massachusetts.
2. Jean Nouvel: He is a 75 years old French architect. He is most known for the designing project of the Arab World Institute, the Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain, the Musée du quai Branly, the Copenhagen Concert Hall, the Serpentine Gallery in London,  the Tower 25 in Nicosia, the Doha Tower skyscraper in Doha, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and more. He is known all over the world for his innovative architectural concepts. He runs the “Ateliers Jean Nouvel” which is located in Paris.
3. Renzo Piano: He comes from Italy. He was born in 1937. Some of the iconic buildings he has designed is the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris (with Richard Rogers, 1977), The Shard in London (2012), the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City (2015) and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens (2016). He recently completed a surgical hospital for children in Uganda. A model piece of architecture in a region that has undergone many difficulties and its residents lack basic benefits. Of course, he has many other projects in development. He has one office in Genoa, Italy and another one in Paris, France.
4. Tom Wright: He is a British architect, born in 1957. He is best known as the designer of the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The construction of the project took almost 6 years, from October 1993 till 1999. One of his most recent projects is the co-design of Celebrity Cruises’ new ship, Celebrity Edge, a task which carries many innovations to the cruise ship industry. He runs an office with two other directors of architecture Hakim Khennouchi and Geku Kuruvilla in Horsham, UK.
5. Zaha Hadid: She was a British Iraqi architect. She passed away in 2016. She is one of the most recognisable figures of the late 20th and early 21st century. Some of her major projects are the Zaragoza Bridge Pavilion (2005–2008), the Sheikh Zayed Bridge (1997–2010), the National Museum of Arts of the 21st Century (MAXXI), Rome, Italy (1998–2010), the Guangzhou Opera House (2003–2010), the Broad Art Museum, Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, US (2007–2012), the Wangjing SOHO Tower, Beijing (2009–2014) and more. The “Zaha Hadid Architects” office in London has 400 people staff and presence in 44 countries with 950 projects.
6. Ieoh Ming Pei: He was a Chinese-American architect. He died in 2019. Although he was raised in Shanghai, he studied architecture in the United States. His first major recognition came with the Mesa Laboratory at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado. He designed the project in 1961 and completed it in 1967. He was picked as chief architect for the John F. Kennedy Library in Massachusetts. He went on to design Dallas City Hall and the East Building of the National Gallery of Art. He then returned to China for the first time in 1975 to design a hotel at Fragrant Hills. He also designed a skyscraper in Hong Kong for the Bank of China. In the early 1980s, Pei received controversial criticism when he designed a glass and steel pyramid for the Louvre in Paris. His architectural office in New York, now operates as Pei Cobb Freed & Partners.
7. Frank Gehry: He is a Canadian-born American architect and designer, born in 1929. Some of his best-known works include the titanium-clad Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain, the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles, the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris, France, the MIT Ray and Maria Stata Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the New World Center in Miami Beach, the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto, the Cinémathèque Française in Paris, and 8 Spruce Street in New York City. He runs the Gehry Partners, LLP employing a large number of senior architects.
8. Frank Lloyd Wright: In 70 years he designed more than 1,000 structures. He passed away in 1959, at the age of 91 years old. Through his career he designed innovative offices, churches, schools, skyscrapers, hotels, museums, and more. He was the first to implement the architectural style of the late 19th and early 20th century called the Prairie School. He also developed the concept of the Usonian home in Broadacre City, his vision for urban planning in the United States.
9. Philip Johnson: He passed away in 2005 at the age of 98 years old. He was an American architect best known for his works of modern and postmodern architecture. He became famous for his modernist Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut, postmodern 550 Madison Avenue in New York, designed for AT&T and 190 South La Salle Street in Chicago. He was honored three times in his life. The one in 1978 when he was awarded the Gold Medal of the American Institute of Architects.
10. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe: He lived between 1886 and 1969. He was born in Germany but he immigrated to the United States. Most people knew him as Mies. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of modernist architecture. The phrases that mainly characterized his architectural style were “less is more” and “God is in the details”. Some of his significant projects include the residential towers of 860–880 Lake Shore Dr, the Chicago Federal Center complex, the Farnsworth House, Crown Hall and other structures at IIT, and the Seagram Building in New York.
