Carpel Tunnel is a problem such a BCI might be able to replace, even if only one way transmission. Avoiding disability rather than curing it being an option. A pinch of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Any wireless device it interacts with should never be able to send 'information' that adjusts the BCI when it comes to security. Not even permissions or exemptions as an excuse to do so. The device can always tell you your connected rather than it popping up in your head, and a minimalistic AR can always been used externally to provide a screen if need be.

The question then being is the BCI vulnerable to things like EMP and Carrington events? Having your brain baked would ... not be desirable to say the least.

As someone thats always been horrible with names I'm cheering for the day that I can have AR that floats people's names over their head like in video games.

Mature brain computer interface technology will be the thing that fundamentally changes humans. Even if lifespans don't radically increase, a child able to download and rewrite parts of their nervous system could be doing a post-doc at the age of 10. I can't wait to see where this all goes.

The biggest thing that I want is to be able to bypass the eyes and just get images sent directly to the brain. I experience really bad photosensitivity that can make looking at screens painful at times, so if I can interface with a computer while my eyes are closed then that would be huge.
