以太坊项目原计划在未来几个月完成从工作量证明（proof-of-work）过渡到权益证明（proof-of-stake）。但根据最新公布的路线图，合并的计划推迟到了 2022 年。以太坊联合创始人 Vitalik Buterin 在最近举行的会议上称，推迟升级的主要原因不是技术问题，而是人的问题。今年早些时候以太坊矿工组建了一个联盟威胁发动 51% 攻击。所谓 51% 攻击是指控制了整个网络 51% 以上算力之后可以对区块链网络进行重组，决定网络拒绝或接受哪个区块链版本。
