碳链价值APP讯，美国证券交易委员会（SEC）互联网执法办公室创始人John Reed Stark周四接受CNBC采访时表示，比特币是「勒索软件的内核」（essence of ransomware）。他说勒索软件已无处不在，且都在用比特币收钱，因为这能让勒索者无影无踪。从这个角度说，加密货币投资者在助长这种攻击。Stark在SEC执法部门工作了18年，他说加密货币几乎没有实际用途，而且未能满足维持美国资本市场透明度所需的注册和其他要求。他认为，「勒索软件几乎让这个国家分崩离析，而这一切都归因于加密货币，人们持有加密货币的主要原因是认为其他人会购买，进而抬高价格。除此之外没有其他投资理由。」（CNBC）
