When Tim Ferriss published The Four Hour Workweek, my life changed forever. The reason? I applied everything I learned and quickly found myself making money without having to do much work.

So what follows is a beautiful story of how I got to where I am today. Perhaps if you take notes and learn from my past, you’ll be incredibly productive, like me, in the future.

I Outsourced My Job To Someone In Thailand

Many people on the internet say it’s possible to quit your 9–5 and live the life of your dreams. But for one reason or another, they rarely give you the necessary steps to make that a reality.

My favorite strategy for escaping the 9–5 is outsourcing, as it saves a lot of time. After all, you can get people in another country to do your job while still getting paid by your boss.

For example, I used to receive $15 an hour to respond to emails while working from home. So, I paid Aran from Thailand $7.50 an hour to do my job for me. As a result, I made $1,350 per month in profit while barely having to do anything.

Then, I Drank Mango Smoothies On The Beach

Tim Ferriss is a big fan of mini-retirements. And in case you hadn’t already guessed, I am, as well. In essence, they’re breaks within your career that enable you to pursue the things you find meaningful without working much throughout the day.

So, how did I do it? The process was pretty simple. Since I was making $7.50 per hour in profit after paying Aran, I used the extra cash to fly to Mexico and live an extravagant lifestyle. After all, the cost of living is much lower in Cancun than in Los Angeles.

Each week, I called Aran for approximately four hours to see how things were going. Then, I spent the rest of my time relaxing and drinking mango smoothies on the beach. I also started learning Spanish and doing several other things to assimilate into the local community.

Although some people might criticize my methods and call them unethical, I disagree. The work still gets completed to an extremely high standard. Just not by me.

The $1,350 per month is passive income since I don’t have to do much. So, I’m thinking of going to Costa Rica or Brazil next month. Being location-independent is absolutely brilliant. And obviously, life is pretty damn good for me right now.

If you look up productivity in the dictionary, you’d see my beautiful face. Because now, I’ve optimized my lifestyle to be more efficient than everyone else in the world.

I make $1,350 per month in passive income by outsourcing my 9–5 job to someone in Thailand. So, if you want to make money without having to do anything, consider implementing the above strategy into your own life. Because once you do, you’ll have more time to spend on things you enjoy.
