The future of integration is hybrid

SAG_iPaas_880x440px_Jan21 (2)Almost every organization uses integration today and – increasingly - that integration is hybrid.

And integration demands continue to grow, organizations are pushing to use more sophisticated solutions, with APIs and microservices playing a vital role. The need for cloud-based integration for this, however, does not negate the still-relevant desire to have strategic corporate applications remain on-premises.

New independent research from Vanson Bourne says that most organizations are likely to be running some form of hybrid integration (64%), versus cloud-only (23%) or on-premises only (12%).

Why hybrid? Productivity and time saving are the key advantages (55%), with improved innovation and greater transparency tied at 49%.

Whereas there are challenges to integration today from security to budgets, almost every company (99%) currently using hybrid integration said that they saw at least one benefit as a result. And most (97%) believe that it would be beneficial to combine the utilization of APIs, integration and microservices together as a bundled solution.

At Software AG, we’ve seen these trends and have taken note. We offer a seamless, bundled solution in the webMethods platform. It is the only platform to offer APIs, microservices and full integration capabilities in a single, secure, highly capable solution that works in the cloud and on premises.

With webMethods, customers won’t have to build from scratch, and can develop new business models and new digital products on a foundation of APIs, microservices and integration - to become a truly connected enterprise.
