Cowen, an American investment bank with about $12 billion in assets under management, has raised $46 million for its Cowen Digital Asset Investment Co LLC intended to provide exposure to bitcoin and cryptos.
General Counsel Michael Benwitt said in a Securities and Exchanges Commission filing that 80 investors participated with a minimum accepted investment of $10,000.
This is just weeks after Cowen and PolySign entered into a strategic partnership “with the goal of enabling Cowen’s institutional clients to seamlessly secure, access and leverage cryptocurrencies and digital assets in their portfolios.”
Little more is known about this new fund that provides a new way for sophisticated investors to enter the market, except that it is another sign of growing interest in cryptocurrencies.
