Facebook Viewpoints is a market research platform that rewards people for participating in surveys, tasks and research. We believe the best way to make products better is to get insights directly from people who use them. We’ll use these insights to improve products like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Portal and Oculus, and to benefit the broader community.

We are looking for an experienced engineering manager, who will lead the team in shaping the future of the platform and its increasing value to the company. You will collaborate with product, machine learning and research teams, across the Facebook family of apps and infrastructure, to understand and address research and data collection needs, to be served by the Viewpoints platform. You will support a team of engineers facing complex fullstack technical challenges. You will work closely with product managers, product designers and data scientists to identify the next big opportunities.

Manager Software Engineering, Viewpoints Responsibilities
Define and influence product strategy, and help shape the product and tech scale strategy of the platform
Collaborate with product and research teams to optimize the Viewpoints value provided based on evolving needs
Mentor and support engineers' growth and success, help them to find and focus on their strengths
Lead and guide engineering culture to form a high performance team
Be a highly technical, hands-on coder and an effective people manager
Communicate across functions and drive engineering initiatives
Participate in technical design
Be a subject matter expert in a product domain
Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm
Contribute to the overall maturity of deployment and other processes.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 5 years of proven hands-on technical management experience, in multiple companies
Experience with scaling systems and products from early stage to enterprise grade
Proven track record of forming effective partnerships with internal and external product and infrastructure teams
Exceptional coding skills in one of the following: C++, Java, Javascript, C# or PHP
BS / MS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, relevant work experience)
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills

Curious to learn about different cultures
Comfortable supporting a team working across multiple technologies
Experience working on fullstack systems with user facing products.
Proven track record of forming effective partnerships with product designers, product managers and data scientists
