华纳媒体与探索频道合并

AT&T 剥离了旗下华纳媒体（WarnerMedia）业务，并将其与探索频道（Discovery）合并，交易规模 430 亿美元。这项协议使得华纳媒体的 HBO Max 除了本身的全球 6,400 万订阅用户之外，添加了探索频道的 1,500 万个订阅用户。合并后的公司规模更大，更有机会与网飞及迪士尼一较高下，网飞与迪士尼各有 2.076 亿与 1.036 亿的订阅用户。但这项协议使得其它流媒体企业更形弱势。AT&T 为其媒体子公司考虑过多种选择，包括与 ViacomCBS 合并，但最终决定推进与探索频道的交易，因其认为后者的媒体资产更好，而且监管阻碍更少。
