芯片短缺开始影响日常消费品。根据 NPD 的数据，大型电视机的价格比去年夏天上涨了约 30%。价格上涨是芯片短缺的直接后果，简单增加产量并不能解决五天。使用类似芯片的产品涨价只是时间五天。华硕在今年早些时候的季度财报电话会议上警告，芯片组件的短缺可能意味着上游的进一步涨价。 整个半导体行业都受到芯片短缺影响，索尼称 PS5 主机在 2022 年前将会一直处于短缺状态；部分芯片元件的价格上涨了几个数量级，广泛使用的稳压器以前只要 50 美分，现在售价高达 70 美元。在消费者领域，显示集成电路最早受到影响，而且影响很严重，供应商称库存已经耗尽。
