读完了 Using R for Data Analysis and Graphics

花了两个晚上总算第一次读完一份 R 文档，这是 R 官方网站上 Contributed Documentation 中列在第一位的文档：
“Using R for Data Analysis and Graphics - Introduction, Examples and Commentary” by John Maindonald (PDF, data sets and scripts are available at JM’s homepage).
简单评论：这份文档对 R 的基础知识写得比较清楚，适合初学者对 R 有一个概览性的掌握，其中尤其是数据结构和函数部分写得还不错，作图部分比较一般，至于统计部分，线性模型和方差分析相对比较细致（其实也不太细致，因为这一块内容本来就很多），而其它模型如广义线性模型、混合效应模型、多水平模型、时间序列、树模型、聚类分析等就写得非常粗略了，稍微浏览一遍就够了，不用细看。
文中有若干小误，已经给 John 发邮件。文档中的图形全都是位图，稍微放大一点就非常不清晰（最清晰是在文档缩放比例为 75% 之时），这一点我觉得非常不好，太毁损 R 作图的光辉形象了……John 老大也许是觉得用 LaTeX 太麻烦，于是就用 Word 凑合着写了。
另：我知道世上至少有两个人不会数数，一个就是我，另外一个就是 R 团队中的 Friedrich Leisch，因为 Using R 这份文档明明是 99 页，却被安排在贡献文档网页的”Documents with more than 100 pages:“这个 section 中。
