Proton/MR1 Tagging Plan across channels

Hey everybody,

The next major release is just around the corner with Firefox 89 scheduled to be released on June, 1st. For this release, we want to try something new, which is to provide regular updates to the product team before and after the release (we just sent the first one this week). Hopefully, this will become the standard for every major release moving forward.

For that, we need your help to tag questions related to Proton changes. Here's how we think about tagging plan for each channel:

  • Forum: If you’ve seen any questions related to proton changes, please tag the question with MR1.
  • Twitter: Conversocial lets us automatically tag conversations with specific keywords related to proton. If you’ve seen other conversations that haven’t been tagged, please add “MR1” tag manually.
  • Reddit: Include proton in your post and tag the thread with “Proton” flair (related thread). We’ll capture the top 10 conversations to the product team on a weekly basis.

With the help of the product team, we have also created a list of Proton changes, and currently working to prepare common responses for some crucial changes. Please let me know if you want to be added to the spreadsheet (note that the list is only for NDA contributors at the moment).

With the upcoming Firefox 89 release, I believe we'll get more and more questions about proton changes. We appreciate it if you keen to help more on this tagging effort (especially on the forum). Just give me a nudge if you want to be more involved in this project.

And should you have any questions about the tagging plan, please shoot away!

- Kiki
