Microsoft Ships Microsoft Edge Dev Update, Wants Your Opinion on a New Feature

Microsoft has recently released a new Microsoft Edge Dev build according to its weekly update calendar, but this time, the company has decided to stick with only subtle changes in the browser.

And the Edge team itself admits the new version doesn’t change much, but on the other hand, the release of this browser update comes with good news in a different regard.

Microsoft now wants to hear from you about a new feature – the pinning behavior of the Favorites and Collections popups.

“We've heard feedback from some of you that you'd prefer to have the new Favorites, History, Downloads, and/or Collections panes remain pinned until you decide you're done, rather than unpinning automatically when the pane is closed. There's a few possible ways we could address this depending on your use case, and we'd love your input on which option works best for you,” Microsoft explains.

Microsoft has therefore published a dedicated survey specifically supposed to help collect feedback on how you like the pane persistence for Favorites and Collections. The company recommends everybody to try out all three options before submitting their opinions.

“The survey below has instructions for how to enable the three proposed solutions. The flag is currently available in today's Canary build (92.0.874.0). For those of you running the Dev channel, the flag should be available there next week,” it says.

In the meantime, Microsoft has also promoted Microsoft Edge for Linux to the Beta channel, as the company is slowly but surely moving to the stable channel on Linux too. The company hasn’t officially announced the beta build aimed at Linux users, but you can find them on the Insider page already.
