Bernard Arnault beats Elon Musk, Warren Buffett, and Bill Gates with biggest wealth surge

LVMH chief executive Bernard Arnault created history by racing ahead of the world’s richest Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Tesla CEO Elon Musk to emerge as the biggest wealth creator across the globe in 2021.

Bernard Arnault added a total of $36.3 billion to his net worth which has now jumped to $151 billion, according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos remains the richest person in the world with a net worth of $195 billion.

Bernard Arnault and his family control 47.5% of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, which owns brands like Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co. The luxury house, which owns over 70 brands including

Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Fendi, Moët & Chandon, Hennessy, and Veuve Clicquot, recorded 14 billion euros in revenue — about $16.9 billion — in the first quarter, up 32% from the same quarter in 2020.

Four of Arnault’s adult children, Delphine, Antoine, Alexandre and Frédéric, hold executive positions within LVMH, along with his niece Stephanie Watine Arnault.

Bernard Arnault is the father-in-law of Xavier Niel, a French billionaire businessman, who is the partner of his daughter Delphine Arnault. Delphine Arnault (born April 4, 1975) is the director and executive vice president of Louis Vuitton (LVMH Group). She is a member of the LVMH Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee.
