Changki Han is a multidisciplinary designer and artist with a wealth of experience in graphic, web, and UI/UX design, branding, logo design, illustration, and typography. Born and raised in Seoul, Changki loves everything about working in visual design.

“I simply love designing,” he explained. “I know that sounds cheesy, but to start with a blank page and to see the result after months of hard work is very satisfying to me, no matter if it’s a type family, a corporate design, a campaign, or a website.”

When it comes to font production, Changki admitted that if he had known it was such a complex and massive undertaking, he “wouldn’t have even started” – although his curious nature is what enabled him to keep moving forward through the process in the beginning.

He “thought it was really easy” at first, later discovering through a series of trial and error — with some mistakes along the way — that font creation and production were far more involved than he initially realized. The biggest lesson he learned was this: start easy. Thinking too much can make it impossible to start.

With a dozen type designs under his belt, Changki releases fonts under his Supply Of Fonts label, offering a variety of sans serif and hand-made type families to suit a variety of design projects.

One of our favorite families, handpicked by YouWorkForThem, is Gravitica, a “modern sans serif with a geometric touch” that was designed to offer extensive flexibility through OpenType. Gravitica is a highly-adaptable family that offers clean legibility in small point and makes a bold statement when used in large-scale displays.

Gravitica speaks with compact clarity, conveying every message with unbiased authority. It is well suited to everything from headlines and editorials, digital and print publishing applications, logo design, advertising, product packaging and informational inserts, merchandise, marketing materials, displays, signage, website designs, and mobile applications. Offering plenty of versatility, it’s a great choice for branding and identity projects, as well.

Gravitica is available in Extra Light, Light, Regular, Medium, DemiBold, and Bold weights, with corresponding italics for each. It also offers Gravitica Patterned, a series of arrows and shapes for adding the perfect finishing touches to any contemporary design project.

Additional features are available through OpenType, including case-sensitive forms, fractions, standard ligatures, ordinals, scientific inferiors, subscript, superscript, tabular figures, and contextual alternates for incredible versatility. Multilingual support extends to Basic Latin, Western European, Euro, Baltic, Turkish, Central European, Romanian, Pan African Latin, and Basic Greek for design projects intended for an international audience.

Changki currently offers 12 products through YouWorkForThem, including additional members of the Gravitica series — Compressed, Mono, Slab, and Rounded. Visit his portfolio to take a look at the rest of his work and bookmark it so you can watch for new releases as time goes on!
