Software Data Engineer - National
About The Role
As a Software Data Engineer on the Pondurance Data Pipeline Team, you will build, manage, and maintain the Managed Detection and Response Data Pipeline. The pipeline is responsible for collecting, processing, and enhancing security-related data used to monitor and protect our customer’s environments. The purpose of the role is for the chosen candidate to understand the existing set of technologies and assist in the conception, architecture, design, and quality of data processing tools and algorithms. This position will work closely with software engineers to provide the data back to customers, and also with the Security Analysts to ensure applicability of enhancements to detect and address challenging problems in cybersecurity.
Skills And Experience
Systems programming experience and concurrent programming, Rust preferred
Experience with API design and maintenance, REST or similar.
Familiarity with the OSI model, TCP/IP, UDP networking, and popular communication protocols such as FTP, HTTP, RDP, and SSH.
Strong data modeling skills
Scripting languages and data science experience, Python, Ruby, etc.
Familiarity with message queues, Kafka
Comfortable with Git/version control workflows.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI), Github Actions, etc.
Highly organized, able to multitask, the ability to work individually, within a team, and with other groups.
What You'll Need
Degree or pursuing Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline and/or equivalent experience
Prior professional development experience required
Strong technical and analytical skills
Not required, but always a plus
Data science and machine learning experience
Database programming, SQL, etc.
Domain-Specific Language design
Agile Development
Experience creating or contributing to open source projects.
Experience with statistical programming and graphing
GPU programming experience, CUDA, etc.
