Hi all,

I hope everyone are ok in this period.

I have a problem with my AW series 6, before the 7.3.2 update the watch battery life was about 46/47 hours without always on now after the update (****ing automatic update on) in the same conditions the battery life is 30 hours ... does someone have the same problem? Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance

if you had anything turned off (radios, or background things) that might have helped your battery, try toggling those off and on. It's possible something got a little scrambled in the upgrade, and those settings aren't fully set.

not sure when the update happened, but give it a few days before passing final judgement, it has seemed to me that battery life suffers a bit after an upgrade, Not sure if it's doing housekeeping in the background and using more battery, or it's recalibrating it's battery sensors, and needs a few cycles to figure it out. (figuring out battery percentage is much more complicated than you think it sold be)

If it's been a week or so, you can try an un-pair and re-pair, I've had that fix battery issues after an upgrade before. You can restore from backup, so you shouldn't loose any data. Expect it to take an hour or 2, so make sure you have time for it to complete before you need to go somewhere. And as above, give it a couple days after for the battery to stablaize.

I’ve been getting the best AW battery life I’ve ever had since the update. Sorry that I’m no help but just wanted to let you know it’s probably not necessarily a flaw with this update per se.

Thank you for the answer, next Saturday I will reset the Apple Watch ... I lost 20% of battery in a night (8 hours) during sleep... before the update 7-10%

It’s a nightmare :......(

I will keep you updated after the reset

Mines been absolutely ridiculous this week.

I wear it to track sleep. Was losing 15-20% overnight.

now I went from 100% to 22%.

I observe also a huge batery drain during sleep. Yesterday from 88% to 38%. Normally it was something around 8-11%. [AW SE]

Do you have a complication set that shows anything to do with weather that is set to do it based on your location picked up by GPS? I've only had my AW6 since just after Christmas and not had any real battery issues, to be honest i just wear it during the day and charge overnight and the only time its dropped below 50% was the day i used it to track a long 10 mile walk, but i did notice a difference in having a complication that did the weather based on GPS. Changed it so the weather app was set to a specific place rather than GPS, not really an issue seeing as we dont really go anywhere currently, and it made a big difference plus the GPS arrow isnt on constantly in control centre on the watch.

I have an Se, changed nothing before or after the update , and I go from 100 tot 24 % in the night.

While at work I don’t wear the watch, it drains as well.
Before the update , everything was perfect.

unpaired and paired the watch this morning, but seeing how much it drained while it’s laying in my locker, it does not bode well 😞

to help with battery life for me, I have a pair of automations in the shortcuts app on the phone. They enable and disable theater mode on the watch at certain times, So overnight, the always on display is switched off.

shortcuts has quite a few handy things for the watch.

Want silent mode on only while you're at work?
set up location based automations to turn it off and on.
Have a watch face that shows complications for an app you're using on your phone?
Have it automatically switch to that face when you launch that app on your phone. I use this for city mapper (a transit directions app)
Always forget to disable water lock after swimming your laps?
Have it turn water lock off as you leave the gym

you can also enable/disable always on display.
