GIS in Criminology/Criminal Justice (Graduate)
This is a graduate level course on introducing various spatial analytic techniques regularly used in both academia and applied settings in criminal justice. Below links to the current course syllabus, and I will continue to update this webpage with additional materials.
- Current syllabus for CRJ 693 – GIS in Criminal Justice – SUNY Albany Spring 2016 (PDF)
- Potential data sources to use for the final project (PDF)
- Online lecture notes/ArcGIS tutorials
I am now teaching an online version of this course for UT Dallas. Its name is GIS Applications in Criminology – and it is cross listed in CRIM-6332 and GISc-6331. It is very similar to the prior criminal justice course, I have the benefit of adding additional material though online. Here is the syllabus for Summer 2017.
