Comsol power banks recalled over fire risk Featured

By Stephen Withers

Comsol 10000mAh Dual Port Power Ban

Several models of power banks sold by Officeworks under the Comsol brand have been recalled due to the risk of fire.

The power banks recalled are:

Comsol 20000mAh USB-C Laptop Power Bank 45W, model number DPC20GY
Comsol 20000mAh Aluminium Dual Port Power Bank, model number DPE20GD
Comsol 10000mAh Aluminium Dual Port Power Bank, model number DPE10BK (NB: not 'Rev:2002' units)
Comsol 10000mAh Dual Port Power Bank model number DPS10GY

According to the recall notices, "Due to an internal fault the battery in the power bank may overheat and catch fire", leading to a risk of "serious injury or death."

Owners of these power banks should stop using them immediately, and return them to Officeworks for a full refund.

They were variously sold between May 2017 and January 2021.

More information is available from Officeworks stores, 1300 OFFICE (1300 633 423), or the Officeworks web site.
