Security provider Palo Alto Networks has established an Australian cloud location to provide local and regional customers with faster access to its services.
The new onshore location also means that Australian customers can store their logs within the country.
Three services are being provided from the new location.
The Cortex XDR extended detection and response platform integrates endpoint, network and cloud data to stop sophisticated attacks.
Cortex Data Lake collects, transforms and integrates enterprise security data for use by other Palo Alto Networks products.
The WildFire cloud-based threat analysis and prevention engine will soon be available locally. While this keeps customer data onshore, Australian customers still benefit from security intelligence and updates based on information from their WildFire-using peers around the world.
"Investing in local cloud infrastructure is part of Palo Alto Networks continued commitment to customers around the world, wherever their data resides. Australia was chosen because of its mature cloud market and reliable infrastructure", said Palo Alto Networks ANZ regional vice president Steve Manley.
"Our customers rely on Palo Alto Networks for a comprehensive security platform to protect their cloud workloads, and Cortex XDR, Cortex Data Lake, and WildFire Cloud will ensure our customers remain secure in their digital transformation process."
These new locally hosted services are in addition to the existing local instances of Palo Alto's Prisma Cloud and Prisma Access products.
