英国金融监管机构表示，由于加密衍生产品带来的潜在危害，它认为这些产品不适合散户消费者。
新规受到了加密行业一些从业者的批评，他们认为该禁令是行业的一种倒退，散户应该获得与机构相同的投资机会。
专注于区块链技术的欧洲风险投资公司Eden Block的合伙人Dermot O'Riordan认为，禁止加密货币衍生品将促使散户用户转向Deribit和BitMEX等不受监管的平台，这些平台提供的保护甚至比受监管的平台更少。
总部位于英国的投资公司Hargreaves Lansdown在截止日期前采取了行动，并从其平台上删除了XBT比特币（BTC，+6.96%）跟踪指数等产品。
“投资者无法再通过HL购买这些产品，但他们可以继续持有已经拥有的投资品，并可以在他们愿意的时候出售这些产品，” Hargreaves Lansdown对外关系主管Danny Cox表示。
