1MORE Announces AirPods Killer: ComfoBuds Pro ANC In-Ear Headphones

By Tina Sieber 1 hour ago

The 1MORE ComfoBuds Pro are active-noise cancelling in-ear headphones that challenge Apple AirPods in both quality and price.

Hailed as "AirPods Killers," 1MORE announced an expansion to its line of true wireless in-ear headphones at Techfluence, a CES 2021 warm-up event, today. The ComfoBuds Pro, 1MORE's answer to the Apple AirPods Pro, also took home a CES 2021 Innovation Award.

Despite launching competitively priced products, 1MORE isn't cutting back on quality. The award-winning ComfoBuds Pro offer better sound quality powered by 13.4 mm dynamic drivers, full frequency sound rage, silicone ear tips, a low-latency entertainment mode, and 1MORE's QuietMax active noise-canceling technology.

Usually, these features come at a price, but it isn't battery life. While the previously released ComfoBuds can't challenge the AirPods on playback time, the ComfoBuds Pro are said to run for seven hours per charge, which is almost 50% more than the AirPods Pro. Android users will appreciate that 1MORE's charging cases use USB-C charging, rather than Lightning.

If you need your earphones to double as a headset for voice calls, the ComfoBuds Pro have you covered. They pack four electronic noise-cancelling microphones, backed by an AI-powered deep neural network for crystal clear calls.

Android using audiophiles will be disappointed to hear that these earbuds support only SBC and AAC audio codecs. While Android supports AAC, it does so inconsistently, as Android Authority reports. Depending on your device, you may struggle with streaming quality, though the low-latency media mode might address this issue.

In the true-wireless segment, Android users who appreciate high-end sound quality should be looking for earphones that support Qualcomm's aptX or aptX HD audio codecs, such as the PaMu Quiet.

PaMu Quiet: Active Noise-Cancelling Earphones With Great Sound

The PaMu Quiet TWS ANC earphones impress with 10mm PEN + Titanium drivers, dual chip design, and a great sound. But are they a good deal?

Since iPhones don't support aptX codecs, however, 1MORE's ComfoBuds Pro are a great alternative to the AirPods Pro, especially if you're looking for an option with silicone ear tips and IPX5 rating. It remains to be seen whether the sound quality and battery life are as good as advertised.

When Will the ComfoBuds Pro Be Available?

The ComfoBuds Pro will be available in March 2021 for $129.

If you're in the market for pro-level in-ear headphones that feature Bluetooth LE multi-point connectivity, hold out for the ColorBuds Pro. You'll be able to connect and seamlessly switch audio between two different devices, allowing you to watch a video or join a video chat, yet be ready to take a phone call anytime without having to repair your earphones.

The ColorBuds Pro will be available later this quarter for $149.
