The device is expected to see daylight this quarter

Microsoft’s next big launch in the hardware market isn’t necessarily the international debut of the Surface Duo Android device, but the Surface Pro 8, which is expected to see the daylight as soon as this quarter.

And according to information we’ve received in the past, the Surface Pro 8 is expected to come with pretty much the same design as its predecessor, so theoretically, Microsoft would just focus on improvements under the hood and nothing more.

What this means is the Surface Pro 8 would be more of a hardware refresh and less of a completely new generation, an approach that could actually end up disappointing the most hardcore fans out there.

In the meantime, the good news is the Surface Pro 8 could also come with new capabilities, and a recent report pointing to official documents filed by Microsoft reveals that LTE support is all but confirmed now.

LTE version almost certainly coming

That’s right, Microsoft Surface Pro 8 will most likely come with LTE variants, and if the aforementioned report is accurate, then South Korea and likely other countries are expected to get them.

By the looks of things, the LTE option would only be offered on the Surface Pro 8 equipped with an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, so most likely, the Core i3 version would stick with non-LTE.

Microsoft obviously has remained completely tight-lipped on everything related to the Surface Pro 8, and while for the time being you’re recommended to take everything with a pinch of salt, more and more sources suggest a hardware refresh is all we’ll get on this new model.

As for the launch of the Surface Pro 8, this is expected to happen in the first quarter of 2021, and some say an announcement could land as soon as January.
