DocuSign adds eSignature SMS delivery, helping you cut through email noise

Electronic forms signing and management platform, DocuSign, now allows real-time SMS document signing notifications - cutting through email noise and closing business faster.

DocuSign has long been known for its streamlined document signing process. It transformed the arduous - but legally necessary and unending - process of receiving papers by email, printing them, signing them, scanning them, emailing them back and turned this into nearly a one-click process whereby the recipient digitally signs the documents and both parties receive a PDF copy instantly.

However, as much as email still reigns as the electronic delivery platform for important information, DocuSign’s research showed customers today prefer SMS over email for important notifications, by a factor of two-and-a-half times. One big reason is people are inundated by email, and valid email still ends up time-to-time in the junk mailbox, so it is increasingly difficult to break through the noise of the modern inbox.

To match customer preferences, DocuSign ended 2020 by bringing document signing notifications via SMS to market, and now all customers have this facility available.

This means any DocuSign customer can enhance their email notifications with real-time SMS notifications sent directly to a signer’s mobile device. They can simultaneously expand their reach, close business faster with more rapid response rates, and provide an enhanced customer experience.

DocuSign is used globally for business transactions such as onboarding new hires, insurance renewals, taking up new services, confirming scope of works, and many other items. These are now bolstered with the addition of SMS notifications, allowing signature requests from clients via text message and expediting turnaround times.

Being built-in to DocuSign there aren't any integrations or third-party billings to deal with and the experience is just as easy as sending DocuSign envelopes via email.
