At Paris Web 2011 conference, someone asked me why the Opera Emulator releases were not in sync with the release of Opera Mobile. I didn't know the answer, but I asked to Andreas Bovens. Opera has a compact core engine to be able to adjust to many platforms. Not only Android. For example, there are versions of Opera for S60 and Meego. Depending on the devices, the feature set, the UIs are slightly different. The priority is given to all the releases of the engines for the different platforms and then to the emulator. There will always be a slight delay in the release.
