Twitter is trying to make the platform a funnier place. A new update lets users scroll through a personalized feed of funny Tweets.

Making Funny Tweets Easier to Find

Twitter introduced Topics to the platform in late 2019, and now, it's using this feature to help you find hilarious Tweets.

Twitter Now Lets You Follow "Topics"

Twitter is launching a new feature called Topics. These are topics you can follow in order to see tweets about those subjects.

Two new Topics are coming to Twitter: Funny Tweets and Viral Tweets. As you might've guessed, Funny Tweets is dedicated to memes and comedic content, while Viral Tweets will show you the most popular Tweets on the platform.

Both sections also tailor the content you see based on the Tweets you interact with. In this way, Twitter "learns" your sense of humor. To do this, Twitter actually utilizes a machine learning model that uses Emojis to understand what users find funny.

2020 has been a year to say the least! & as more people joined Twitter to find and connect with their interests, they also found a way to bring their sense of humor along with them. So where do those 🔥 Tweets live?

Isabella Turchetta, a product manager at Twitter, commented that "screenshots of funny Tweets are shared online all the time, and when people come to Twitter to get in on the fun, these Tweets should be easy for them to find."

You can help Twitter personalize your feed by Liking or Retweeting any Tweets that you find funny. As for the Tweets you don't like, hit Not Interested. The platform will then adjust the kind of Tweets you encounter in each feed.

Will This Help Tweets Go Viral?

Twitter is fully embracing the fact that users screenshot Tweets and share them on other social platforms. The new comedy-driven Topics will make it easy to get straight to the funny content without having to dig.
