Macromedia Will Ship Flash Player With Microsoft's New Windows XP

SAN FRANCISCO -- Macromedia Inc., vying to expand distribution of its multimedia products, said it will ship its Flash Player software with Microsoft Corp.'s forthcoming Windows XP operating system. Financial terms weren't disclosed.
Macromedia said Flash Player will be the only media player made by a third-party company to be introduced with Windows XP, the latest version of Microsoft's Windows operating system for personal computers. Flash Player allows users to view technical illustrations, animations and other effects for Web sites.
