10月26日，中国台湾威盛电子（VIA）召开重大信息说明会，宣布通过威盛持股100%的子公司VIABASE和VIATECH出售部分芯片产品相关技术、数据等知识产权（不含专利权）予威盛间接持股14.75%的上海兆芯，交易金额为1.39亿美元。
