据匿名知情人士透露， 亚马逊正与印度首富穆凯什·安巴尼(Mukesh Ambani)进行初步谈判，拟收购其旗下零售巨头Reliance Retail 9.9%股份。知情人士称，安巴尼是印度信实工业有限公司(Reliance Industries)董事长，他已经告诉股东，旗下零售子公司Reliance Retail已经收到投资者咨询，并可能在未来几个月引入新的投资。
安巴尼对股东说：“战略和金融投资者对Reliance Retail的兴趣十分浓厚，我们将在未来几个季度为其引入全球合作伙伴和投资者。”
最近几个月，安巴尼旗下数字平台已经吸引谷歌、Facebook等注入约200亿美元资金。这位63岁的大亨已将科技和零售确定为未来的增长领域，以摆脱他对从已故父亲那里继承的能源业务的依赖。
