为了迎接即将发售的 VR 游戏《Half-Life: Alyx》，Valve 宣布旗下的《半衰期》系列游戏限时免费两个月。这个限免和其它限免不同，玩家只能免费玩并不能永久保留。免费作品包括了：《半衰期》，《半衰期 2》，《半衰期 2：第一章》，《半衰期 2：第二章》，以及《半衰期：针锋相对》，《半衰期：蓝色沸点》和《军团要塞经典版》。《Half-Life: Alyx》是《半衰期 2》的前传，讲述了《半衰期 2》女主角的故事。
