Samsung has once again managed to beat Google in the rollout of monthly security patches for its flagship devices. The company has commenced the roll out of the January security patch for the Galaxy Note10 in Germany.

This is the first update for the Galaxy Note10 after Samsung rolled out its stable Android 10 and One UI 2.0 update in mid-December. The January security patch does not bring any new features or changes to the table apart from patching some security loopholes.

Google, on the other hand, is yet to start the roll-out of the January patch for its Pixel handsets. In fact, many Pixel 3 and Pixel 4 owners are still stuck on the November security patch. The company has so far only announced that it would release a joint December and January update for Pixels that are still on the November patch.

Apart from the Galaxy Note10, Samsung has already rolled out the January security patch for a bunch of its budget devices like the Galaxy A10, A10s, A20, A30, and A50.

This is not the first time that Samsung has managed to roll out a monthly security patch ahead of Google. The Korean company had rolled out the December security patch for the Note10 ahead of the Pixels as well.
