Android 10-based MIUI 11 updates for the Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi Mix 2S, and Mi Mix 3 are now in closed beta

Late last month at an event in China, Xiaomi showcased some of its newest products, including the Mi Mix Alpha and the Mi 9 Pro 5G. Along with the hardware, the company also announced MIUI 11 at the event. The company’s latest Android skin brings a ton of improvements and new features compared to MIUI 10, and it’s slowly making its way to Xiaomi devices worldwide. The company has already rolled out beta MIUI 11 builds – based on Android 7.1 and above to a number of phones, including the Xiaomi Mi 8, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. These three devices previously received MIUI 11 builds based on Android Pie, but we’ve recently learned that they’ll soon receive builds based on Android 10.

The MIUI 11 closed beta nightlies from October 9th reveal that the aforementioned devices are now getting a bump up to Android 10. With the update, the Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi Mix 2S and the Mi Mix 3 will receive Android 10 exclusive features like a system-wide dark theme, new gesture navigation, and more. However, these builds are part of a closed beta update, so it’ll be a while before they hit the stable channel. If you own any one of these three devices and want to try out the Android 10 update for yourself, you can download the respective update packages by following the links below. But before you go ahead and flash it on your device take note that these are very early versions of the software and you might experience some unforeseen issues.
